The Witcher Remake is an announced reimagining of the 2007 role-playing game The Witcher, planned as a rebuilt version rather than a simple remaster. It is being developed using Unreal Engine 5 and is intended to modernize the original game’s presentation and systems while retaining its core story set in the dark fantasy world of the Witcher universe. The game follows monster hunter Geralt of Rivia, a professional “witcher” navigating political conflict, moral ambiguity, and supernatural threats, with an emphasis on narrative choice and consequence.
The project was publicly revealed in October 2022 and has been described as a full remake that updates the experience for contemporary platforms, including Windows PCs.
